The world is dynamic, people come and go, and change is constant. These pictures focus on places where the dead are taken to rest. Cemeteries give a glimpse of how cultures deal with human death. I always like to visit them. One finds everything: modesty as well as pomposity and kitsch. I certainly prefer cemeteries where untamed vegetation is allowed to dominate to highly organized ones, in which families try to outdo each other by planting miniature gardens in front of the gravestones. I have included some colour images.
