I am not a vegetarian - I eat meat and enjoy it. Animals have to be killed for this. I accept this, though I couldn't do it myself. This series documents a strange fascination with bodily transformation - from live animals to a stylishly presented piece on your plate. These images are of stages somewhere in between. They were taken in markets around Southeast Asia and deal with aesthetic rather than moral issues. While in Europe the activities shown here tend to happen behind closed doors, they are quite visible in Asia and not surrounded by taboos in any way.
