The vast majority of Thais are Buddhists. Temples are everywhere - easily the most lavish buildings around. And, all people are devoutly religious, do their rituals regularly. In the 1980s I was very interested in Buddhism; for me Buddha's teachings are a system for managing life. Having grown up with the prospect of an eternal sinner in Catholicism, Buddha's teachings were a revelation. I am not religious, but I have a lot of love for the Buddhist look at life. I like to photograph Buddha statues, those of famous monks and murals in temples - this is a collection of them.
